How to repair a torn or holed 50cc motorcycle saddle?

A poorly negotiated bump, a fall while standing still, the repeated friction of the knee pads or simply the wear and tear of time... and now the saddle of your 50cc motorcycle (Derbi, Rieju, Beta, KTM) is left with a tear or hole. If the situation is allowed to deteriorate, water will seep in and the internal foam will rot. What to do? And if you're looking for the ultimate in customization, try our 3D Configurator for 50cc Motorcycle Seat Cover.

Temporary Repairs (What you need to know)

Many bikers look for motorcycle saddle patches or use black duct tape. Although these solutions are tempting because they cost almost nothing:

First, the Adhesive Tape: With the heat of the sun and the friction of your clothes, the adhesive will melt, leaving a very stubborn black sticky mark on your pants. From an aesthetic point of view, it is disastrous.

In addition, neoprene glue or specific glue: If the tear is superficial, you can glue the edges. But synthetic leather experiences enormous stress when you ride and brake. The glue will always end up giving way under your weight.

Then, the Patchine Kit: It works on inner tubes, not on a saddle. The visual rendering will immediately devalue the appearance of your two-wheeler.

The Real Solution: Changing the Cover

Rather than wasting time with "grandma's tips" that don't last, the only real method to repair a holed saddle is to change the complete covering, also called the "saddle cover".

You absolutely do not need to buy a complete manufacturer saddle (which often costs between €80 and €150)! Simply replace the outer casing, and re-staple it to your original foam.

The Bike Sellier Option: Repair Becomes Customization

Rather than replacing a basic black housing, why not take advantage of this "breakage" to give a unique look to your 50cc?

At Bike Sellier, a French saddle maker, we have created a 3D configurator dedicated to 50cc motorcycles. For a starting price of €44, you can:

Next, choose a new ultra-resistant imitation leather.

Then, add areas of non-slip grip.

Then, select dozens of colors to match the saddle to your decoration kit.

Installation can be done in 15 minutes at home using a simple stapler. You repair your hole permanently, and in the process, your machine takes on a crazy rating!
